A Shrewsbury Christmas Carol
1984 saw the release of A Christmas Carol. Most of the film’s location work took place in Shrewsbury. If you visit St Chad’s Church in the town centre, you will see the gravestone of Ebenezer Scrooge left there by the film production, amongst the other stones and monuments. This quiet space is home to birds and other little creatures scurrying about. This image was used for the Christmas edition of ‘My Shrewsbury’ magazine in 2024.
