Squatters’ Cottages

On a walk from Snailbeach Mines, past ancient hollies and heading towards The Devil’s Chair, you will find Blakemoregate cottages. These abandoned buildings are remnants of harder times as farmers in a bygone era. Now you will see ancient, gnarled trees and maybe some jays gathering acorns.
